'Tis the Season to Celebrate!

Thanksgiving is over, I am full, rested, and relaxed.  Most of my holiday shopping is done thanks to some great online deals and free shipping, so that means my Christmas season is wide open for family, fun, and celebrations!  I have a few holiday parties to attend and I am excited to kick off the season of festive cheer.

Recently I created some holiday party invitations that are so pretty, I just love them!  They are printed on metallic paper, mounted on red cardstock.  These invitations are a perfect for a holiday party or the design could easily be used for a Christmas card:

Besides celebrating the holidays, there are a lot of people around me celebrating babies!!  No matter what the season is, babies are always fun and exciting.  This invitation is for one of my best customers - she always has fun ideas and themes for showers and this invitation was no exception.  The theme for this baby shower was "Super Baby" and the idea turned out so cute!  These postcard invitations perfectly fit the theme and were a very unique and fun way to invite guests to the shower.

The last item I am going to share is not something that I made, but something made by my friend, Ayca, at Adornments.  Ayca is a very talented jewelry designer, currently stationed on the west coast.  I go to her for all of my jewelry needs and love her custom work.  Recently I sent her a piece of sea glass that I had picked up this past summer while vacationing in Homer, Alaska.  I asked her to use her creativity and make it into a necklace for me.  To my surprise and delight she took the seaglass and turned it into one of my most cherised keepsakes.  After wire wrapping the seaglass, she attached 3 birthstones to the top - my birthstone, my husband's birthstone and the birthstone for our baby that is due this coming May!!  Isn't that the most thoughtful and cool thing ever?!  This necklace now represents a memorable family vacation as well as my little family - it gives me goosebumps and makes me smile!

Cheers to all of the fun and joyful things to celebrate during this season!

C'mon, Baby!

The talk of babies is running rampant in my family these days as my sister is only 2 weeks shy of her due date and my husband and I recently found out that we are expecting!  It seems like babies are the topics of most conversations lately, so I decided to keep that trend going and talk baby on the blog!

Recently we had 2 showers for my sister.  I previously blogged about her invitations and the bunting that I created.  I'd like to show you some of the other accessories we had at the shower:

This sign inviting guests to take a party favor:

I saw this printable on Pinterest and thought it was so cute!  Each guest filled out their "wishes" for the baby - what a special keepsake to have:

I created these favor tags that were adorned on all of the prizes:

Now, I have to share two things that my super creative Aunt Pam made.  She has always been rather crafty and creative, and I have to give her mad props for these adorable accessories.  She made a centerpiece diaper cake and diaper wreath, decorated with all sorts of fun things for the baby.  These were such a unqiue gift idea and might I add some awesome decorations!

Hopefully my new niece/nephew makes their appearance soon, I can't wait to meet him or her! :)

Pinterest Love

Oh, I am so in love with Pinterest.  This site is full of so much inspiration, I find myself searching and searching for hours sometimes!  My boards are beginning to get rather full, so I decided that it was time to actually produce something from my "I can do this" board!

My sister is having a baby and due in a month.  Therefore, with 2 showers on the horizon, I had the perfect opportunity for some crafting.  We are hosting 2 small showers and my sister does not know what she is having.  These 2 events gave me some great opportunities to create some cute stuff!

What I did for one shower is create this bunting banner (I think that is what it is called!).  I have seen a variety of bunting projects on Pinterest and my friend at Remaking Memories blogged about her bunting inspired save the date cards. I figured that I had to take a crack at this crafting trend.  The process was super easy- I cut triangles from scrapbook paper and cut out letters with the CriCut.   Once the letters were cut, I used scrapbook adhesive to stick the letters on.  Then, I punched holes in the triangles, strung them together and, voila!  What I ended up with was this:

Isn't it cute?!  I love that the colors are not your typical "baby" pastels, instead they are more modern and certainly gender neutral.  This was so simple to make and  very budget friendly.

My sister and I were also  inspired by a "Pea in the Pod" theme that we found on Pinterest.  For her other shower, we decided on that theme, pulling tons and tons of inspiration from the site.  I created shower invitations that perfectly fit with the theme.  They were printed on shimmer paper and matted on shimmery soft yellow cardstock.  The poem on top reads, "A pea in the pod, a bundle of joy, is Heather's baby a girl or boy?".  I stuck with the yellow, green and gray color scheme and the result was a very cute invitation:

So, if you need a fun way to relax, start browsing on Pinterest - you will be glad you did!

A post - long overdue!

Wow - I have been gone awhile! Between starting the new school year and a busy schedule, I have neglected my poor blog.   Today's post features a few projects so I can catch you up on all of the things I have been creating:

Earlier I blogged about the wedding stationery of Suzanne and Chris.  Their wedding set was classic and regal and their final piece completely coordinated with their overall theme and feel.  Below are the thank you cards created for them.  The cards were printed on white cardstock, with the swoosh design that adorned their stationery and featured the same fonts and colors as the rest of their wedding stationery.  What we finished with was a simple and classic thank you note that completed their set perfectly:

Next up is a baby shower invitation that I am in love with.  These shower invites were created for a mommy to be that does not know the gender of her little one just yet.  The clean gray, yellow, and white added a sophisticated touch to this adorable baby buggy design:

Finally, I get to show off these fun invitations!  These are so special because a) they are for a super special girl and b) this special girl had a hand in the design process.  Her birthday party was tie-dye themed and these invitations were such a fun way to invite her guests.  The birthday girl is quite the little budding artist and it was so fun to have her work with me to design something perfect for her party.  The end result was bright, cheery, and pretty much awesome invitation!
Later in the week I will be sharing with you a new pea in the pod baby shower invitation & some fall wedding postcards.  Stay tuned!
