Christopher & Sabrina

Awhile back I worked with a gal named with Sabrina.  She was always so spunky and fun, I loved working with her.  As you can imagine, I was stoked when she asked me to design her wedding invitations!  Like I have mentioned before, it is so much fun when I can work with someone  I know and make something very special for them.

The look Sabrina was going for with her invitations was classy, yet fun and exciting.  Her colors were black and white and her bridesmaids were carrying a variety of colored gerber daisies.  So, my goal was to incorporate the gerber daisies somehow while focusing on some bold black and white invitations.

This was also the first wedding where I had purchased a gift from Remaking Memories for the bride and groom.  Katie at Remaking Memories does such an outstanding job, this is what she came up with:

The back side of the ornament was white and featured their names, as shown on the invitation.  A very nice keepsake for fabulous invitation and a sweetheart bride :)

Oh, Baby!

Though wedding season is starting to wind down, things are still busy over here with plenty of stationery orders and work related to remodeling my new office. 

I have been busy with thank you cards, seating charts, and of course, birth announcements!

The first set of birth announcements were made to announce the arrival of adorable little Lucas!  It just so happens that his parents are good friends of mine and just about a year ago, I made their wedding invitations!

Their wedding invitations were simple and clean, featuring their wedding colors.  Their colors were blue and green and I created for them simple, yet elegant invitations.  The invitation was printed on metallic white cardstock with olive green text, mounted on another piece of sapphire blue metallic cardstock.  The RSVP card and accomodations card all coordinated through the use of the same font, ink color, and metallic paper.  We finished off their ensemble with a metallic white envelope with the return address printed on the back flap.  These invitations were classy and clean, with a bit of jazz.  The photo below showcases the entire invitation suite (though you can't really see the shimmer of the papers, so use your imagination!)

So, fast forward to now.  This couple is happily settled and ready to announce their little bundle of joy to the world!  It was easy creating announcements for this family - I am very familiar with their style and in no time we were able to decide on a design, again using the blue and green color scheme, this time a little muted.

Below you will see what we came up with.  It is simple, cute, and totally up their alley.  Not to mention that the photo of their sweet little guy brings a smile right to your face!

The same week that I was working on these announcements, I was also creating the announcements to introduce little Carter, the cutest little thing with a great head of hair!   His mom had contacted me before he was born, so we had already completed the design and were just waiting for him to make his appearance.  Once he got here, we got to work putting his pictures into the design and getting them printed.

Of course, in true Sarah form, I FORGOT to take an actual photo of these announcements - grrrrrr!  I have the digital file to show you, but it doesn't quite do justice for the finished product.  *Sigh....

The announcements were printed on white matte stock paper, featuring the "Little Sparkler" design using colors suitable for a little boy.  The result turned out really nicely and these announcements served as a great introduction for this new little guy.

Anna & Dan - Damask Save the Date Cards

Every invitation is important to me, I always work hard to ensure that everything is "just right". Well, this latest set of save the date cards had me working in overdrive in order to make sure the design was absolutely perfect. Why you ask? Well, that's because these save the date cards were for my sister-in-law! Making something special for family makes my job all the more important and these were no exception.

Anna and Dan had some adorbale engagement photos (taken by yours truly!). Their love for one another and fun personalities were evident in so many shots that I couldn't feature just one photo. So, I chose to design a card to feature 3 photos, trying to show everyone else the love that I see in these two.

Once I decided on a layout, I needed to work with incorporating their wedding theme. Since I will be creating all of the wedding stationery, I wanted it all to coordinate with the theme of their wedding. Their wedding color is a deep purple, accented with black and white damask. The look is classy and sophisticated, with a little bit of fun, which is very fitting for these two. So, what I created is below. A beautiful, glossy, save the date card that is classy and fun and showcases the fabulous couple that is Anna and Dan!

Sour Apple, Fall Style

Every wedding or event that I create stationery for is special. I love getting to know the personalities of my customers and creating something that is unique just for them. I love it even more when I get to work with clients that I already know, especially when we can work so well together and create something just perfect for their event.

Enter Shelley and Loren.

Shelley and Loren are planning a beautiful fall wedding filled with warm ivories, browns and greens. Their wedding feel is fall, but without the typical red, brown and orange color sheme. Shelley was a breeze to work with, probably beacuse she is a friend that goes way back , which makes her invitations even more special to me.

Shelley chose the "Sour Apple" invitation, but opted to change it up a bit (which I just love to do!). We altered the color of the background and changed it to a soft, natural color, rather than the bright white. She chose brown text and green and brown accents and chose to add fall leaves on the bottom of the invitations rather than just the basic dot. We created a coordinating RSVP card and carried over the leaf motif. Our end product was a beautiful fall invitation that will serve as the perfect prelude for their wedding.

Marisa & Larry

Awhile back I blogged about some exciting feedback that I received from a bride. Well, I am just realizing that I never actually showed off her invitations! Whoopsy! So, without further delay, I present the wedding invitations of Marisa & Larry.

I met Marisa while at the Zehnders Bridal Show. She took advantage of the crazy awesome deal I was offering that day, and as soon as the show was over, we began the to brainstorm and design some sample invitations. Marisa wanted something fun and unique white showcasing her lime green & hot pink color scheme. After a few ideas that we weren't quite sold on, we finally decided on the "Vineyard" invitation, slightly altered. We altered the colors and added the polka dots in order to add some spunk to the invitation. The result was a bright and fun invitation set:

Signed, Sealed, Delivered!

Logos, logos, everywhere you see logos!!! I have spent the last 2 years trying to develop one for myself, one that really represents the business and one that I really love. I mean, being a designer and all, coming up with a logo should be an easy process, right? WRONG. Deciding how to "brand" myself has been so frustrating! I wanted to come up with a logo that displays class, elegance, and also creativity, all while appearing clean and sleek. I also somehow wanted to incorporate the idea of a seal on an envelope. Well, 4 failed logos later, here I am with something that I finally am happy with! The re-branding process has begun, and it all revolves around this:

I am loving this logo so much. From the color to the font, and the implied look of an envelope "seal", I happy with it all around! So, since creating the logo, I have finally began the process of "branding" my business. I want everything to have the same look and feel and I want everything from my website and blog, to business cards and packaging to all coordinate together.

I recently ordered some cards to send along to brides to be delivered with their gift from Remaking Memories and these cards are fab! Check 'em out!

I have also been researching and trying out new packaging products. Though I am not 100% happy with my packaging options yet, I did just order these sweet little stickers from Zazzle . They are super cute and are a perfect addition when sealing a box or envelope.

I am pretty excited with where this is all headed. What do you think? I would love to hear feedback about the logo, packaging, ideas, comments, etc.

Shhhhh...... It's a Surprise!

My family is hosting a SURPRISE 80th birthday party for my Aunt Red this summer. Aunt Red is just about one of the coolest ladies around and one of my most favorite Aunts. From her special names for us (Pizzazzio anyone?) to her love of playing cards, this woman is nothing short of amazing. When the idea of her party came up, I jumped at the opportunity to make the invitations.

I got the info from her kids of what to include and they gave me free reign on the design. What I came up with was a simple invitation, but it sure did the job.

Cheers to you, Aunt Red. And remember everyone else, Shhhhhhhh...........It's a surprise!!!
